Toyota Service: Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to schedule service ahead of time?
We highly recommend scheduling a service appointment online for your convenience. That way, you can show up at your appointment without a long wait!
Can I take my Toyota to any dealer for service?
Many dealers will service any make or model, but you can lose out on the expertise of Toyota-certified technicians. Visiting an authorized Toyota service center ensures you get optimal service for your model.
How often do I need a Toyota oil change?
Toyota recommends getting an oil change every 10,000 miles, but to also come in every 5,000 miles/6 months for inspections and fluid top offs.
How do I know when I need to service my tires?
Some common problems with tires that are likely signals for tire service include: tire pressure light turns on (low tire pressure), vibrations, steering issues, low tire tread, cracks and more. If you’re experiencing any of these issues with your tires, you should have it examined and/or fixed by a service technician.
How do I know when I need to service my brakes?
Some common signs that it’s time to service your brakes include: ABS light turns on, squealing or grinding sounds, soft brake pedal, veering to one side when braking or a brake fluid leak. Brake issues are incredibly dangerous as they can lead to accidents. If you’re experiencing problems with your brakes, do not wait to have them repaired or replaced.
What does a Toyota service plan cover?
New Toyota vehicles come with ToyotaCare, which is a no-cost maintenance plan that covers inspection and adjustment of all fluid levels, replacing the engine oil and filter, tire rotations and multi-point vehicle inspection. This plan also includes 24/7 roadside assistance. This coverage lasts for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Toyota also offers extended coverage plans through ToyoGuard.
