Spring is the perfect time of year to enjoy the outdoors, and what better way to take in the surrounding sights than with a run? Slip on your running shoes and get your heart pumping with these four upcoming runs in Atlanta, Georgia.
Publix Georgia Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K

Hosted by the Atlanta Track Club, the Publix Georgia Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K is a huge running event perfect for all ages. Get the family involved in some physical exercise with five different courses. Open to kids are the 50-meter, one-mile, and 5K runs. Teens can try out the half marathon (13.1 miles), and adults can challenge themselves with a full marathon (26.2 miles).
The Publix Georgia Marathon will be held at Pemberton Place, with the wheelchair run kicking off the event. The half and full marathons start at 7 a.m., and the 5K will commence 30 minutes later. An awards ceremony closes out the day, and all participants receive a complimentary T-shirt and medal to commemorate their experience.

Designed for those who want a more intimate course to follow, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Lantern Run guarantees an exciting journey through Piedmont Park with plenty of promising perks for participants.
Swag bags are available for runners and include goodies such as a water bottle, cap, keychain, shirt, and personalized race tag. If you’re interested in attending this event, distances include a 5K, 10K, and half marathon. You can sign up for a morning, afternoon, or evening course, and coordinators will be on-site throughout the day to provide water and record your time.

If you miss the Lantern Run or want to challenge yourself to a double marathon, stop by Piedmont Park the following week for another exciting run. The Sunset Marathon offers 5K, 10K, and half marathon courses with both afternoon and evening waves. Just like the Lantern Run, you’ll also get a swag bag complete with a cap, race tag, shirt, keychain, and water bottle. Bring these with you on race day and show your support for this Atlanta metro event.
Run with the Wolves 5K and 1-Miler

Encourage others to join you for the 2018 Run with the Wolves 5K and 1-Miler. Ideal for all age groups and fitness levels, this race offers a one-mile course for beginners, as well as a 5K course for dedicated participants. There’s even a free Pup Run open to preschoolers so they can join in on the fun, too. They’ll receive a medal for their efforts while getting a healthy dose of physical exercise.
All events will take place at the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Middle Campus, and goodie bags can be picked up there or at the Elementary Campus prior to race day. These include items such as a shirt, race bib, and bag. However, shirts are limited, so sign up early to guarantee yours.
